Michael Scott: We think a lot alike [Dwight]. Sometimes you will think something and I will say what you’re thinking.

Dwight Schrute: OK, what am I thinking right now?

Michael Scott: Umm, nacho chips.

Dwight Schrute: No. . . How skin is the largest organ of the body.

Even thought that might sound weird Dwight is right, the skin the the largest organ of the body. Our clothes touch our biggest organ all day long. When our clothes contains plastic materials such as polyester or spandex, some of those microplastics seep into our skin. This process is quicked and amplified when the body is heated or sweating. This occurance is particuraly dangerous around the more sensitive part of the body. So while 100% cotton socks might not seem particurally important, it would be worth looking into purchasing 100% underwear and pajamas. Additionally, underwear containing plastic is usually tighter around the testicles, which may pose a risk to sperm health and other reproductive harm.

Estrogenics are artificial substances that act as estrogen on your body. These substances vary from fragrences, toxic chemicals, to plastics.

1. Buy a Metal Water Bottle

When your water sits in plastic, microplastic leech into your body. These plastics are most commonly estrogenic. An easy way to lower plastic consumption is to buy a stainless steel water bottle.

2. Buy 100% Cotton Pajamas

While it might be inconvinient to buy 100% cotton clothes to wear during the day, pajamas are an easy switch. 100% cotton pajamas are extremly comfortable and it's not a sacrafice. Having polyester in your clothes drives infertility. Why not just buy comfy and safe 100% cotton pajamas.

3. Don't Keep Your Phone In Your Pocket
While this mostly applies to males, it be smart to stay on the safer side and never put your phone in your pocket. Doctor Andrew Huberman explain in a AMA podcast the dangers of leaving your phone in your pocket. Firstly, he explain the danger of having EMF raditation so close to the testicles. The radiation affects the sperm in ways that can drive infertility. Secondly, having an object in your pocket increases heat around the testicular area. This can also affect the sperm negatively.

4. Stand Up More

5. Keep Things Cool

6. Soy No More

Soy has been shown to have estrogenic effects on the body. It would be smart to avoid things containing soy, especially soy protein or soy isoflavones.

7. Wholesome Ingredients

So many personal care products are packed full with estrogenics. Parabens and phalates lurk in the fragrences and artificial coloring put in those products. These chemicals drive infertility and impacts sexual development in kids. Invest in products made with wholesome, non-estrogenic ingredients.

When I went to the doctor to learn further about why I was developing "man boobs", I learned that I had a thing called gynocomestia. Gynocomestia is the development of breast tissue in a male due to hormone imbalances. I learned that a major hormone disruptor that seems natural and healthy are essential oils. I discovered that the shampoo and conditioner I was using were perhaps a major factor in what I was experiencing. These ingredients act as estrogen does in your body when used. Estrogen is produced naturally by both males and females and is vital to many key functions in our body. We have estrogen receptors almost everywhere. But, when artifial estrogenics, or chemicals that act as estrogen, flood our system that can lead to many issues. In conclusion, stay away from lavender an tea tree oil despite them seeming natural and healthy.
